Photo Essayist: Polaroid Portraits

*Editor's Note: Every Wednesday, we will be bringing you a set of photographs taken by our photo essay staff. Any opinions conveyed via the photographs or commentary are those of the essayist and are not representative of Austinist as a whole.*
The following has been provided by essayist Chad Wadsworth.
At this year's Fun Fun Fun Fest, Austin photographer Chad Wadsworth took a break from shooting the live performances to spend some one-on-one time with the festival artists and local personalities. Set up in a makeshift studio behind the media tent (sharing space with discarded pizza boxes and other festival detritus), he burnt up the last local stock of Polaroid 669 and 690 film to capture these images as part of an ongoing series of indie rock portraits. The images, captured on a 35 year old Polaroid Land Camera, are a fast disappearing testament to the magic of analog photography.
