Thanks for the lovely pictures of home. I won't be there this Christmas, so it was nice to see them featured on the Austinist. Detroit is crazy. And facinating.

Yeah,born and raised in "THA D" right here.....when I was younger me and my peoples used to wild out in the MCT........ tagging walls and what-not....much respect

As a Michigan native it always frustrates me when Detroit is portrayed in such a negative light. While Michigan Central Station and many of the abandoned buildings are visually compelling, there are so many other Detroit scenes which show success and progress. At a minimum, why not at least present a balanced photoset? It seems that the only images of Detroit that appear to the national eye are images furthering the perception that Detroit is an abandoned wasteland.

Bworl,the title of the set is "Detroit- An Abandoned Past," therefore it wouldn't make much sense to include photos of Detroit's progress or success.

And as for progress in the present day Detroit, I haven't seen any....
