Are you a hipster? Or do you at least strive to be? Do you like the holidays? What about art? If you answered yes to any of these questions then you might want to check out the Holiday Hipster Snow-Ball Party and Fundraiser at Co-Lab in East Austin on Saturday. The event benefits Austin's own non-profit visual arts publication Cantanker magazine and its community outreach programs and exhibitions.

There will be live performances by Blood Thirsty Youth, M.C. Eats, The Space Invader Orchestra, and No Mas Bodas. Mixed media installations and collaborative art work will be on display by a variety of Austin artists and there will be a make-your-own ornament craft table in case you need a little something extra to hang on your tree. The event is free, but donations are encouraged. There also will be a raffle or two for Holiday Hipster Gift Baskets.

BOE RING FUH KING TOWN... please y'all, from the perspective at 1am when inebriation is involved: name one goddamn artist worth a shit over on the East Side. I'm prejudiced. Let me know. There's gotta be one. I know y'all good folk but c'mon. Good = unique, right? (And I'm only inebriated after reading this post.) For real what the fuck? Yeah fine support "arts" (most of y'all suck shit just like most bands are boring as fuck, from a personal opinion, god DAMN y'all think highly of yourselves) but goddamnit find another hood. That's all I'm sayin'. But I also don't care and ain't gonna debate hoods in this stupid fucking city! So fuck off Brooklyn, Austin, SanFran, all y'all bitches, show us some real shit or shut the fuck up! Peace! Love! Obscurity rules! One on a 100 of y'all out there are gonna grind and be the real deal. But too many of y'all're out there, gone get somewhere else, leave the East Side alone, stop trippin'!

No good art, east, west or south. It's all up north and even there you run into some dog shit like graffiti murals that look like they were painted about 1989 or something. Cantanker is sad. Art in Austin is sad. Some people will eat a turd if you put a $2000.00 price tag on it and say it was cooked in Tokyo and that's just sad.
