Also, point noted about Ice Cube lyrics, its not like he is the epitome of tolerance or eloquence for that matter, but the discussion at hand is in reference to the opening act. Besides, while his movies (except for one) are horrible, he has come a long way in changing his image overall, but that is for another discussion.

I personally think Trick Trick pretty much sucks and am not a fan in the least bit and find his comments to be ignorant and disturbing. But I find it funny that y'all wanna call him out, and forget lines from Ice Cube like "What I need to do is kick the b*** in the tummy." And more. i mean, i understand the context of a lot of what Ice Cube says and am also not trippin', but reality is, lots of people say lots of really crappy things. If you hated every rapper that did not like homosexuals, you'd have a pretty narrow group to choose from. That being said, I agree with all points in regards to throwing garbage on Trick Trick. Or going outside during his set. But really, the vast majority of folks will not join you, they just won't. Sad but true. Lets all wave pink flags during his set. Where can we get these???? My advice would be to just not enter the club until his set is over. You can't do anything about the money if you want to see Ice Cube, but having the opening idiot play to absolutely no one might get a point across. With that said, a bigger point would be made if you just didn't show/pay for either.

I appreciate Allen taking the time to write on this subject. At least he is attempting to make people aware of the issue. I also understand Mohawk's situation, however, I will not be attending this show and will be encouraging everyone I know to do the same. I also recommend writing to local news agencies and Equality TX, http://www.equalitytexas.org/ as I have also. The goal here is not to cancel the show, but to make sure Trick Trick understands his vocal and violent views are not accepted here in Austin.

Eric - your point is very well stated. Like many other folks I purchased four tickets for this show long before I was aware of the opener. My money (or support against this jerk)is already gone. If the Mohawk doesn't have the power to get this a*shole off the bill, the other option is to not show up for his set. Does anyone have any idea when Ice Cube is scheduled to go on?

If the guy is going to get any money from the gig based on the door - no matter what 'activist' stance you take - paying for a ticket to the show is directly supporting him and his views. It sounds like Mohawk might be taking a stance, but what direct assurance are paying customers getting that their money won't go into the pockets of this moron? It sucks that Mohawk would lose business on this, but it just seems like the only sure way of expressing opposition to Trick-Trick is by not attending the show.

Well said Allen. The staff at the Mohawk agrees with you. It sucks that in order to have one of our favorite artists play this stage that we have to find out later that a 'package deal' douchebag dumbass asshole opener comes with the contract. Especially one that we have never heard of...sucks...and oh yeah, was apparently raised by a herd of idiots. Obviously, we believe in free speech and despise music censorship in general, but this guy seems to cross the line everytime he is interviewed. Anyway, we can assure you that our 'All are welcome' moniker won't apply when he walks in the gates. Basically, the show doesn't start until the headliner plugs in.
