  • Just announced: DeVotchKa will perform with Crooked Fingers on Feb. 8 at La Zona Rosa. They'll be supporting their most recent non-Little Miss Sunshine project, A Mad and Faithful Telling. Tickets go on sale Saturday, Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. via GetTix ($18).
  • Local post-rock heroes My Education took part in a Brian Eno Hoot Night back in November, and they've finally got the studio versions up on their site. We're smitten with "Here Come the Warm Jets".
  • According to The Statesman, Ron Wood has confirmed a Faces reunion, with Austin-based keyboardist Ian McLagan and Rod Stewart both on board.
  • Friday's edition of Texas Music Matters (noon on KUT 90.5) will feature ten essential Texas recordings, as featured in Tom Moon's 1,000 Recordings to Hear Before You Die.
  • Grammy nominees have been announced, and there's 26 Texas artists in the fold. Beyonce, George Strait, Grupo Fantasma, Pinetop Perkins & Friends, Rodney Crowell and Craig Hella Johnson's Conspirare have all been nominated. See the full list of Texas based nominees here.
