Yes, Dubya's Moving Back to Texas [At Least It's Not Austin]

It turns out that New York Post gossip columnist Cindy Adams was spot on about the Bushes: after leaving office next January, the President and First Lady will be settling down in the modest town neighborhood of Preston Hollow in north Dallas.

The following note was released by the White House today:

The President and Mrs. Bush have purchased a home in the Preston Hollow neighborhood in Dallas, Texas, where they will live after the President leaves office in January 2009. They will continue to spend time at Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford, Texas.

The President and Mrs. Bush do not have occupancy of the home, and therefore, no additional details will be provided.

The happy family should fit in right at home in their lovely new neighborhood, which, according to Wikipedia, boasts families with average annual incomes of $1.5 million and where, even as recently as 2006, the battle against Brown versus the Board of Education raged on. Sounds like a fancy place!

  • People have different reasons why they change residences. In buying a house, there are many considerations to think of. In this situation, President Bush and his wife has changed priorities and they are relocating to oversee their projects.

yes, thanks for pointing that out.

Preston Hollow is an area of Dallas, not a town near Dallas. Kind of like Tarrytown. Or Cow Hollow or Brentwood for all you transplants.
