A lot of teenagers feel insecure about their appearance. Gangly arms and legs protrude out from morphing torsos. Voices have an octave-will of their own. And then there's the hair. Hair where? Hair where there was never, ever hair. But one teenager has this particular problem in the extreme. His name is Billy, and when he discovers his pubescent hair issue is a little more serious than everyone else's, he sets out to find the source of his shame: his father, Gorilla Man.

A new rock-and-roll musical created by Kyle Jarrow—starring Kathleen Fletcher, Jen Brown, Bobby Torres, Spencer Driggers, Benjamin Wright, and Andrew Varenhorst—Gorilla Man opens tonight at one of Austin's most notorious hipster hangouts, the Creekside Lounge. What better place to tell a story of angst, violence, identity and free will than downtown's tight pants capital? Tickets are $15-$25 (plus the price of your American Apparelwear) but Austinist is here to get you in fo' free, kiddos. That shit is bananas.

[Congratulations to our winner!]
