That's a Lot of Pot

This past Sunday morning a Temple cop pulled over an 18-wheeler on IH35 for a traffic violation. After noting the driver's suspicious behavior, the cop asked to search the truck, where he came to find 872 pounds of pot (about $872,000 worth) in the trailer. The truck driver, who hails from Laredo, has been arrested and faces federal charges for narcotics trafficking. [Statesman]

The pot co-op is in California so if you want to buy pot from a co-op, you will have to move there.

Where is the pot co-op, I'd love to become a member.

at $1000/lb that's mexican ditch weed, cheap ass grass. not even worth smoking. BUY LOCAL, it tastes much better and I feel better supporting local farmers.

It seems like people hauling drugs should learn to obey traffic laws.

...no word on whether or not there was a Johnny Chimpo sticker on the bags of pot. Although the trooper did reveal that "it smelled like sex in there" as he opened the doors of the trailer...

This bears repeating. I apologize for the caps.

YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT.

The search was consented to. Some people just shoot themselves in the thigh.

I have a feeling "suspicious behavior" = being a truck driver from Laredo.

Really, what constitutes "suspicious behavior"? I'd like to know so that I don't exhibit any next time I'm pulled over. Who wants to spend 45 minutes on the shoulder of I-35 having your car/truck searched?
