Lisa’s work, along with work by her studio mates Ryan McKerley, Edmund Martinez, and Stephanie Nance can be seen at 2710 E. Cesar Chavez St.
How did you become a jewelry maker?
I studied Metals at The University of Texas and received a BFA in Studio Art in 1998.
What is the inspiration behind your creations?
The metal itself many times. My enamel work is very influenced by street art and everyday images.
What materials do you use?
I use sterling silver, gold, copper, enamel, wood and bone.
What can people expect at your studio during EAST?
A very funky, yet functional studio space that doubles as a jewelry and ceramics studio. I will have a ton of new work on display along with the ceramic work of Ryan McKerley and Edmund Martinez, and paintings from Stephanie Nance.
Where can people find your work during the year?
My work can be found on my website, Parts & Labour on South Congress, the Austin Museum of Art, and Whole Foods. People can also call or e-mail me for an appointment and come by the studio.
