Supporting what is undoubtedly one of the finest metal albums of the year (Hydra Head's
Meanderthal), Torche will perform at Red 7 tonight. The Miami natives are known for their doom-sludge riffs and gift for blending pure pop hooks with knotty riffs. Described by some as "the
Melvins with bubblegum," Torche demonstrate the potential to cross over into post-rock or even vaguely Pixies-ish territory on some tunes, all without ever sounding wimpy or disorganized. Part stoner rock, part '90s hardcore (fans of Rodan will feel right at home),
Steve Brooks and Co. will make you regret not bringing earplugs tonight at what will probably be one of the best live shows of the year.
They'll be supported by Black Cobra, Clouds and Ratking.
