Be a 1950's Extra

The Food Network is taping a show in Austin later this week featuring the Casserole Queens and their delish Chicken Pot Pie. They are throwing a party for the taping and you're invited -- the catch is that you have to dress in 1950's-style clothing and be available for four hours. The party/taping is this Thursday, November 20. If you are interested, email helen(at)blueplate(dot)tv for more information.

Do they need black people to sit at the "colored" lunch counter?

^good luck. Now, as in the 1950s, black people are hard to find in Austin.

if i don't get picked i am going to throw a fit

They are hard to find now, if you only stick to affluent neighbohoods. In the 1950s it was much easier to find black people as a great many of them lived in Clarksville.

I should have explained that I was thinking of Austin's black population in comparison to other Texas cities like Houston and Dallas.
