"You remind me of the babe..."
Now, much like "Deep in the heart of Texas," almost anyone will help you finish that song. Okay, maybe only children of the '80s and young hipsters. Whatever. We grew up on the movie Labyrinth, and, as we grew older, we realized David Bowie was the absolute shit for partaking in a Jim Henson film.
What's not to love? You got Bowie, his enormous package (that we didn't notice as wee babes), a young, pre-getting-nekkid Jennifer Connelly, cool puppetry, and badass songs. What if a theater were to get Goblin King fans into one place to sing those badass songs? Well, that might have some power over us.
Join the Alamo Drafthouse Thursday, November 6 (and Nov. 19-20 and Dec. 4) for some funtime Labyrinth sing-alonging. Like any Drafthouse sing-along, there will be subtitles on the screen to help you belt out "Magic Dance" and "Chilly Down." Like, you don't already know all the words...
If you've gone to a sing-along, you can expect normal Drafthouse shenanigans, such as pre-movie Labyrinth games and a host dressed to the nines in tight pants and a wig. If you're like our roommate, you can put away your softcore Jareth fan fiction and head to the Drafthouse for some dance magic dance or jump magic jump and reenact your childhood fantasies--only whilst plastered.
