Cap Metro Union Announces Strike

Jay Wyatt, president of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1091, said the Cap Metro bus drivers, mechanics and maintenance workers in the union will begin a strike Wednesday morning in response to continued failure to reach a settlement in contract negotiations. It is possible that an agreement will be reached before Wednesday. If not, CapMetro will run a reduced schedule and charge no fares.

So... This won't be affecting the Ut shuttles, will it?

No - UT shuttles are operated by a different company and my understanding is that they will not be affected by the strike.

Thank you, ATU members! You really think Cap Metro's suits care if you guys strike? GMAFB. The only people you're hurting with this friggin' strike are people like me who depend on the bus to get around.

Isn't that the point kenneth? Without outcry from the riders there would be no need to meet their demands.
