On Halloween night, at the Rhizome Collective, the barrier between our world and the spirit world will evaporate for one unforgettable evening. Why not break some other barriers, while we’re at it? Disko de los Muertos, a rockin’ amalgam of Middle-Eastern disco, techno, and punk, doesn’t stop at an all-night dance and costume party. Promethean fire-dancers Sangre de Sol will set expectations ablaze, along with Barzuland Shadow Theatre's colorful theatrics. DJ’s Organgrider and Chicken Kiev will keep the costumed crowd moving, between performances by premiere Austin musicians. Enjoy Ararat’s delectable Middle Eastern food, smoke shisha, and honor departed loved ones at the alter.

There will be many raucous melody makers serenading the Rhizome Collective’s walls. A rare acoustic performance by avant-guarde musician Leila Bela promises traditional Persian folk music along with her own otherworldy stylings. WinoVino will bring their transportive Russian flavor to the mix, evoking the rebelliousness of pirates from faraway lands and times. Buscando el Monte’s Afro-Cuban beats will keep the mix spicy, and the inimitable Rebecca Havemeyer will no doubt up the antics for this Halloween celebration. ¡Mariachis del Muerte! will also join in. There are no ATMs at the Rhizome Collective, so gather your cash beforehand. Get in touch with your inner Dancing Skeleton and head out for a night of sacred mayhem. Haunting has never felt so good.

Note: The secret MySpace password will be posted on October 31, so friend Gadjo Disko for lower priced admission:
