Weekend Music Preview: Woven Bones Tour Kick-Off [Beerland / Friday]
The weekend kicks off on Friday evening at the Mohawk with our own Local Music Is Sexy party featuring Brothers & Sisters, Foot Patrol, Lovely Sparrows, Leatherbag, the Eastern Sea and a surprise performance at 1:00 a.m. by special guests. The rest of the weekend's after parties round out with guests like Blunt Force Trauma, Dead Confederate, Devlin & Darko (Spank Rock), Lipstick Terror and more. In the middle of this will be White Denim's CD release party at the Mohawk on Saturday night. Most afterparties offer cover prices if you've got your wristband on.
Earlier this year, promoters announced the initial line up, featuring a one-time Dead Milkmen Reunion, Bad Brains, The National, Atmosphere, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Clipse, The Black Angels, Black Heart Procession, Municipal Waste, The Octopus Project, Z-trip, Dan Deacon, and plenty more. In addition to the musical line up, this year, the festival will incorporate comedy acts like Tim & Eric's Awesome Show, Neil Hamburger, Dragonboy Suede, Matt Bearden, and others.
But tickets at the Fun Fest Web site and at local Austin outlets like Waterloo Records, End of an Ear, and Prototype Vintage and all Frontgate ticket outlets. Festival wristbands will be valid for a discount at select official afterparties.
