I'll second that endorsement of Tam Deli's bahn mi. I don't usually make it my goal in life to eat grilled pork but I always make an exception there.

Pho Van is by far my favorite Pho and Bahn Mi in the city. I think they put an addictive substance in their food that makes me crave it fortnightly. And I love that the woman who works there is so predictable and efficient - "Hi hi hi hi hi, you ready to order? Small #1? Something to drink?" - all in one breath. That being said, I am looking forward to trying Cafe de Bella. Perhaps for lunch today.....

Also don't forget Tam Deli up north, one of the first places in Austin to serve banh mi, I believe.

There are lots of great Vietnamese sandwich options up north already - Lulu B's is hardly the end-all, be-all of Bahn Mi in Austin, even if they are the most expensive. Try Pho Van in the same Target Shopping Center, or my favorite, Thahn Nhi on North Lamar about a mile from there. There are at least three other Bahn Mi places on North Lamar between 183 and Braker. Campus needs some Bahn Mi love though, those cheap sandwiches would be a big hit with students bored to death of Subway. Anybody know of any?

Yay! We have Vietnamese sandwiches up north! Thanks for this review. It's a spot I might have otherwise overlooked.
