[un]Workshop to Give Voice to Community Media
Media is no longer in the hands of just a few. Today, anyone in the community can use free and easy tools for information, organization, and action. To find out how, a free event will be held on Saturday, November 8 at the Ruiz Branch of the Austin Public Library.
The People-Powered Media [un]Workshop, hosted by the Greater Austin Community Media Action Group, plans to offer sessions of interest to local journalists, artists, technologists, community advocates, creators or just regular citizens. To make sure people get what they want from the event, it's structured as an "unconference", meaning that attendees themselves generate the agenda, the sessions and the discussion.
Admission is free, and everyone is invited, but because space is limited, organizers ask that you register.
The [un]Workshop is scheduled from 10 am to 5 pm. The Ruiz library branch is located at 1600 Grove Blvd., near the intersection of East Riverside and Montopolis.
