Crawford Screening at Alamo South Lamar This Monday-Wednesday

Crawford, the Austin-made documentary about the Texas town and its tenuous relationship with President (and former/short-term resident) George W. Bush, made waves a few weeks ago as the first major online premiere of a festival film.

The film, which debuted on Hulu.com, made more than a little splash—though Hulu contractually prohibits any specific traffic numbers from being discussed, we have it on good authority that Crawford racked up enough views during its first three days to outperform similar opening weekend box office numbers for An Inconvenient Truth and March of the Penguins.

With the election just a week away, the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar is hosting a limited run of the documentary on the big screen from Monday through Wednesday. Tickets and screening times are available here, or check out more info about the film at the official homepage.

I watched it on Hulu, and it's actually a pretty good movie. Being a Texan, it's easy to identify the personalities of the people in the film beyond what they show in the documentary... We all know the type, and understand the atmosphere. I'm not so sure anyone outside of Texas would really gain as much from it though.
