Fun Fun Fun Fest Organizers Announce Vendors, Green Initiatives

Fun Fest organizers announced the second most important line-up: the local vendors. Festival attendees can look forward to goods and services from Parlor Pie, Room Service Vintage, The Woodland, Prototype Vintage, Vegan 101, Birds Barbershop, Starlite, Big Rig Vintage, Ruby’s, Luster Creations, Daily Juice, Leighelena Jewelry, Best Wurst, Jah Seed, Snowie, Toy Joy, Boomerangs, Brave New Books, Monofonus Press, and more during the weekend of November 8-9. The inclusion of such a wide variety of vendors is a big part of what made last year's fest so great -- if you're going to be somewhere all day long, it's a big relief to be able to browse, eat top notch local bites and get acquainted with your local business owners and their wares. Inviting local business owners to set up during a festival is a no-brainer, but kudos goes to planners who seek a wide variety of shopping, eating and service offerings.

There's also an initiative to encourage a more environmentally friendly even this year. Fun Fun Fun Fest will be supplementing power with solar generators for vendor tents, recycling through Eco-Action, and will be encouraging the use of cycling and carpooling with various on-site incentives for festival goers. Current residents of Waterloo Park (who, as you might imagine, are deeply invested in what happens that weekend and when it will return to normal) are being employed by organizers for the weekend to help with various tasks, including recycling enforcement and general cleanup.

There will be on-site screen printing, video games, a mechanical bull, sumo wrestling ... we're not joking. And if we get there and there isn't a mechanical bull, we're leaving.

Fun Fun Fun Fest takes place November 8 & 9 at Waterloo Park. On Friday the 7th, we'll be hosting a special Local Music Is Sexy kick off party with Brothers & Sisters, Lovely Sparrows, Leatherbag, the Eastern Sea, and Foot Patrol at the Mohawk. Our party is free, but you can buy tickets to the festival at Waterloo Records, Sound on Sound, End of an Ear, and Prototype Vintage. Student discounts are also available to students around the world that like to rock.
