I will say that Tori Amos's shows at The Backyard were excellent. But not as good as the Dylan shows, the Yes shows, and the many Widespread Panic shows.

I already miss The Backyard. I guess we're stuck with the shittier-than-ever Austin Music Hall now.

All facetiousness aside, even if Josh did really like Tori Amos, why does that mean he has no penis? I've been contemplating this question for awhile now. If a woman likes death metal that is sung by a man, does that mean she has no ovaries/vagina/breasts or other gender specific organs? From my experience, women don't tend to be ridiculed for enjoying music produced by the opposite sex.
Why is it that male artists are universally acceptable, but if you are a man and want to listen to a female sing pop music, you are suddenly labeled a eunich? What if it was the same song/lyric sung by a man? Are all female artists considered lame, or just the known feminists?

I'm seriously interested in this phenomenon, so any insight is appreciated. The comments section of Austinist may not be the best venue for social discourse, but what the hell.

And no, I'm not a Tori Amos fan.
