When it’s time to party, we will party hard. And party hard we did (along with everyone else within a ten-block radius of Emo’s) to the tunes of Girl Talk Monday night. Presenting a myriad of mixed beats from all genres, Gregg Gillis made sure to keep the crowd in motion at all times. But let’s get things straight: to soak in the real Girl Talk energy, it’s best to push toward the front and jump on stage. While at most other shows this would get someone a quick boot to the door, Gillis is notorious for sharing the spotlight (and some sweat) with his fans. After just one song, the stage was erupting with GT-goers who bumped along to the cascading mix of music while swimming through air gun blasts of rainbow confetti and toilet paper.
Leaving not one dry armpit in the room, Gillis delivered an uninterrupted flow of madness with bits of MGMT, Blackstreet, Elton John, Nine Inch Nails and Kelly Clarkson all rolled into one performance. While most of the beats Gillis belted out have been heard on previous albums, he swooned the audience and made sure to keep the fire coming to the end with an encore that could have caused seizures. We’re still ringing the sweat from our shirts, but a Girl Talk show is a sure fire way to spice up a weeknight.

I am so happy that the economic recession isn't stopping college aged white kids from spending their daddy's money at Emos on a Tuesday night.
did he have bodyguards on stage with him??
I love his "old school" computer in the pictures and the fact that he was "mixing" the entire time. This spring in LA he had a brand new macbook and hung out at the bar the entire set!
It's "wringing" not "ringing" when it comes to clothing and getting liquids out of them.
Also, "to swoon" means "to faint". It's not something you to do other people. GirlTalk may have caused other people to swoon, but he didn't swoon them.
