When The Walkmen arrived on the scene with their debut, Everyone Who Pretended to Like Me Is Gone, they amassed an indie following in relatively no time at all. Then, their music was added to the soundtracks of television shows like The O.C. and films like Spider-Man 3. And now, their very classic indie rock sound without any unnecessary glitz or glamour brought to you by way of New York is arriving at The Parish on Friday.
Their latest album, You & Me, arrived just this summer and was their highest charting record yet. Then, in a gesture of charity and goodwill, the group offered their album first as a digital pre-sale at only $5, all of which was donated to a cancer center. The album also charted high digitally. A lot of the tracks the new CD have a large, music hall feel with echoing, high, jangly guitar and vocals which seem to fill the room. With hope all of the subtle nuances and empty spaces in these songs won’t be lost amid a louder, more rushed rockiness, which can too often be the case.
They will be joined by The Little Ones, who will open with plenty of quirky pop to go around. Their debut album emerged just days ago, and it’s as brightly colored as the perky and frolicsome music within. Enter to win a pair of tickets to tonight's show:

Any idea what time The Walkmen will actually hit the stage?
