Oh lordy how time flies. The Roots, one of the hip-hop world's most successful and influential acts, has been around for...wait for it... over two decades. We just checked our watch and did a double-take. DAY-uhm.

From their sonic embryonic days performing in the streets of Philly, to fabled line-up changes and various new Wizard additions, to internationally renowned musician magicians, these guys have always been "monsters," as a grizzled jazz drummer friend has deemed untouchably awesome performers. They've barnstormed Lollapalooza and played a wicked "unplugged" set with Jay-Z, they've toured the world many times over, bringing their collective, seemingly bottomless knowledge of American music to the rest of the globe and set a benchmark of grace and professionalism for every one who picks up an instrument from this point forward. Quite simply, they're juggernauts. They're also descending from the mothership to put on one of their trademarked, mind-meltingly incredible live shows right here at La Zona Rosa this Sunday. Touring on their most recent release, April's Rising Down, you'll be moving to tracks both new and old with a thousand beat-intoxicated friends to dance with. UK chanteuse Estelle and the self-effacing, jubilantly melodic hip-hoppers Gym Class Heroes open.
