As we told you yesterday, an historic event is taking place today on the internets: the first ever feature film debut on Hulu.com. Adding a double scoop of awesomeness to the occasion is the fact that said feature film happens to have local roots: CRAWFORD is a documentary about the tappity-tap-tap dancing of folksy political stagecraft and a small town population embroiled in a tensile political climate, directed by David Modigliani.

Besides the fact that the film is a very well crafted sociological study, it is now made even more important by the way in which it is bending the boundaries of film distribution channels. Changing directions in how we consume information seems to be the current cultural zeitgeist, and with this premier we again broaden the possibilities of how all media is proliferated to the masses. You will not only be able to watch CRAWFORD on hulu.com, but you will also be able to embed it in your blog, share it on your Facebook, or download it from iTunes. But don't worry, if you are a purist and like to watch your movies the old fashioned way, that being on a DVD (sorry kids, no VHS or Betamax this round), you can even purchase the film with extras from Amazon or Netflix.
