TXMPA's Spaghetti Western Fundraiser

TXMPA’s Spaghetti Western
Friday, November 7
Star Hill Ranch (15,000 Hamilton Pool Rd.)
$60 general public / $50 TXMPA members
[info] | [tickets]
On Friday November 7th, the Texas Motion Picture Alliance will hold its fall fundraiser out at Star Hill Ranch, an absolutely gorgeous movie-set-turned-party-venue out on Hamilton Pool Road. The "Spaghetti Western", as it's been dubbed, will be hosted by nine-time Grammy winner Ray Benson, and will feature a seated, family-style Italian dinner as well as musical performances by Gary Clark Jr. and his band.

You may even bump in to some of the Central TXMPA's Honorary Chairs--a group that includes Terrence and Alexandra Malick, Mike Judge, Richard Linklater, Robert Rodriguez, Elizabeth Avellan, Warren Spector and Louis Black.

As anyone who attended the recent outdoor screening of Baghead knows, Star Hill Ranch is a fantastic venue for a party. And the "Sophia Loren meets Clint Eastwood" dress code means that we finally get to bust out that pair of chaps we got for our birthday.

Tickets are $50 for TXMPA members and $60 for the general public. Members had first crack at tickets, so a good chunk have already been sold. In other words, get 'em soon while the gettin's good. 100% of the profits will go toward helping the TXMPA lobby the upcoming 2009 State Legislature for more competitive production incentives in Texas.

Recently, Texas has been losing an alarming amount of film business to the many other states that offer greater incentives to filmmakers and production crews. It is the mission of the TXMPA to bring this business back to the Lone Star State.
