I didn't notice this before but she appears to have hairy forearms. She may want to get those waxed. Just sayin'.

  • davetx

I've been thinking of having my hairy forearms waxed.

  • tcelikel

Well this time it was 8 months. I've slept on it, and I still think she is an attention whore.

  • davetx

Fair enough. 8 months later, and I still think you're a pretentious douchebag. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

  • tcelikel

Dave! Everything will be ok. I promise ;)

  • LoudMouth

Definitely knitting a winter blanket in the hot sun of September at a music festival.

  • davetx

Yeah, God forbid anyone enjoy the festival in the way that they choose. Maybe next year some of you can pass out pamphlets detailing what you find acceptable behavior.

  • tcelikel

Maybe some of you oversensitive indie kids could lighten up a little.

  • davetx

Seems to me that you are the one who's a little oversensitive, skippy. And try to keep up, we'd rather not have to wait another 3 months for your insights.

My comment about the anonymous knitter at ACL fest's attention whoring was made in jest. I'm sure that she simply enjoys knitting and was just passing the time between sets.

Oh Steph: ACL fest draws what? 50k - 60k people? If you didn't see any attention whores then you weren't paying attention.

davetx: You don't need a pamphlet to know that knitting during an outdoor concert in September isn't normative behavior. That doesn't make it "bad" but it is unusual.

  • nickc

    OH SNAP!

  • tcelikel

Whether she was aware of it or not, I also think she is an attention whore. I mean who pays $150 for a weekend of music and freakin' knits? I think it is insulting to Neko Case that some presumptuous hippy would rather knit than enjoy her music.

  • davetx

Which is more pretentious, knitting while listening to music (I'm not a knitter, but I imagine you can do both at the same time) or complaining about someone choosing to do just that, four months after the fact?

  • oh steph

Actually, she was one of the most unassuming people that I met at the festival, Wes. I just happened to think that it was cute that she was knitting during Neko Case, which seemed to be very fitting, what with her dreamy, dusky voice and all. Seems like perfect knitting music to me.

Unfortunately I didn't get the subject's name, so she will live on in anonymity amongst the denizens of lovely, quiet and kind festival goers that I stumbled across last weekend, none of them attention whores in any way.

OOOH! OOOH! LOOK AT ME! I'm knitting during ACL fest! I'm an attention whore!
