Austin Toros to Hold Tryouts for Local Players

Feel like you’ve outgrown the amateur play of your weekly pickup game down at the Y? Think you can hoop the rock with the best of ‘em? If so, that childhood dream of making it to the League might not be dead just yet.

The Austin Toros of the NBA Development League will be hosting tryouts for local players this Thursday in Austin and in San Antonio on October 26. Successful participants will be invited to the Toros training camp in November, with the possibility of making the team’s opening-day roster when they host the Utah Flash on November 28.

Tryouts will be held at Concordia University in Woltman Gymnasium in Austin and S.A. Factory of Champions in San Antonio. The registration fee for both events is $150 before September 29 (today), and $175 thereafter.

Last year two Austin ballers, Tim Bush and Patrick Fields, made the Toros roster as a result of the open tryouts.
