Don't Fear The Reaper: SPI Music Fest Preview Party @ The Belmont tomorrow!

The 2008 South Padre International Music Festival kicks off on Friday, October 31st, and for two days, attendees will have the opportunity to see a diverse collection of acts on the Spring Break paradise that is South Padre Island. We can only imagine what sort of havoc a Ghostland Observatory set on Halloween night may wreak! (The festival’s schedule will be released sometime after that festival in Austin in September.) Other notable artists playing this year’s fest (at over ten venues) include the redoubtable Willie Nelson, rock legends Blue Öyster Cult and Foghat, and Austin’s own Alejandro Escovedo. Guy Forsyth and Steel Pulse were also added to the line-up recently.

The South Padre International Music Festival has put together a nice little preview party at The Belmont on Thursday evening. Live music from Twanguero (also playing SPI Music Fest), a chance to win an all-expense paid trip to the festival for two (along with a Shred Stixx wakesurf board and a Gibson guitar), as well as the lure of drinks specials should be all the motivation needed for an early evening out on town. The event is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
