Fantastic Fest Announces Free Online Screenings

If you didn't snag a Fantastic Fest badge in time (all regular, VIP, and second-half badges are sold out, slowpoke), or if you're just not sure the fest is your cup of tea, you're in luck! This year, the folks at Austin-based B-Side Entertainment have teamed up with America's best genre festival to present Fantastic Fest Online--a chance to watch 11 of this year's official selections for free, over the internet.

From September 14th to the 20th, you'll be able to watch five full-length features and six shorts though the B-Side website. You can also rate and review the films, as well as vote for "Online Audience Favorite". The only catch is, you have to sign up for a B-Side account. But that's not really a catch, since B-Side is awesome, and provides online scheduling for a lot of other local fests, including the Austin Film Festival, aGLIFF, and the Austin Underground Film Festival.

The point is, you can watch some good movies for free. We recommend the hilarious / engrossing / disturbing I Think We're Alone Now, a documentary look at two strangers who've been stalking 80s pop sensation Tiffany for nearly 20 years. You won't be able to wash the creepy feeling off.
