Starting tomorrow, return to your old teenage sensibilities and childhood wonderment when The Zilker Botanical Gardens opens The DinoLand Exhibit.

Roughly 60 million years ago, the Zilker Park area of Austin was a long shoreline of The Great Inland Sea, where an abundance of pre-historic creatures roamed the landscape. Today, the Zilker Botanical Gardens looks to put you through a Cretaceous time-warp filled with over thirty different exhibits, all outside and along the beautiful new Escarpment Trail that winds through the gardens. This is a perfect event for the kids, bringing them face-to-face with life-sized dinosaurs, many that may have stood in that very spot tens of millions of years ago.

This exhibit will last for three months and is the first of it's kind of exhibit to come to Austin, the exhibit was previously on display at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens.

Teachers and parents looking to teach take note--the Zilker Botanical Gardens have done a great job parlaying the educational benefits of the event for teachers in the Austin-area. School tours will be scheduled with area schools and curriculum guides will present young students with activities in math, science, history and geography.

There is a host of events planned during the three-month showcase, including Dinoman The Magician, storytelling at BookPeople, dinosaur-themed arts & crafts and much more. For a complete listing of events, visit the events website.
