KVRX Back-To-School Extravaganza!
Since KVRX 91.7, the UT radio station, receives state funding, they're required by law to play local music for a portion of every hour they're on the air. That translates into wading through literally thousands of promo CDs from crappy local and semi-local bands, so whenever something decent shows up they're more than ready to return to favor. So naturally they've put together a stellar lineup of local bands for their nth annual Back-To-School Extravaganza on Saturday, and for a measly $5 you can't do much better than dream-rockers Ringo Deathstarr, Fleetwood-fetishists {{{Sunset}}}, and a host of others including up-and-coming MC Phranchyze and ghettofied noisemongers Transmography.
Acts will be split between Emo's indoor and outdoor stages. Now, for some of us, school is in session year-round--it's called work, and for the most part sleeping through whatever happens before noon isn't an option. Thankfully the show's on a Saturday night: all you dirty old over-25ers officially have no excuse.
