Going Out of Bounds: OOB Starts Tonight!

The annual Out of Bounds Fest kicks off this evening with a big boom—none other than the lovely and charming Maria Bamford performs at Esther's Pool. Opening is our very own Lovey and Lovey; Matt Bearden emcees. The festival showcases some of the nation's best in improv, sketch, and stand-up comedy. This year, the festival has been expanded to include short films and TV pilots. Highlights of this year's lineup:

• The Groundlings (LA): The troupe that spawned Phil Hartman, Will Ferrell, and Lisa Kudrow brings their Crazy Uncle Joe Show to Austin.
• The Trans4merz (LA): With three over 500 shows and 6 Emmys for comedy writing under their collective belts, they turn any stage into a living, breathing, comedy brain.
• Pimprov (Chicago): The Chicago Tribune voted these guys "One of the Best of the Chicago Improv Festival" and said "Politically correct, no. Funny, yes."
