The Blanton Museum of Art is kicking off August with a special edition of their monthly celebration of the arts, B scene. As usual, the event will feature gallery tours, appetizers, and DJs. Unique to this Friday's B scene, the Blanton will be hosting an Austin Poetry Slam reading. These savvy wordsmiths will entertain audiences with their dynamic delivery against the backdrop of the museum's current shows. The Blanton's summer exhibition, Exquisite Visions of Japan, will be on view. Check out this collection of Japanese woodblock prints before the exhibit closes on August 24th.

As an additional incentive to appreciate art, the museum is offering a special membership offer available exclusively to those attending this month's B scene. By becoming a member at the event, the museum is offering two free admissions to the August 1st B scene, two free tickets to a future B scene, 10% discount on any membership over $60, a $10 museum shop gift card valid on a purchase of $25, and slam poetry.
