Brothers Benjamin Curtis and Brandon Curtis, along with Josh Garza, formed The Secret Machines in Dallas at the turn of the century after stints in a few bands such as UFOFU and Captain Audio. The trio relocated to New York, but Benjamin Curtis left the band last year to pursue his School of Seven Bells project.

The Secret Machines bring their psychedelic space-rock to Stubb’s (Inside) this Thursday for what promises to be an explosive concert experience if past shows are any indication. They provided us with a thunderous, visually stimulating set when they opened up for Interpol at Stubb’s in 2004, and again during SXSW 2006 when they sizzled at Charles Attal’s after-hours party. The band has also opened for the likes of U2, Oasis, Spiritualized, and M83 in the past.

The Secret Machines first grabbed our attention with a catchy and poignant chorus via the “Sad And Lonely” single although 2004’s Now Here Is Nowhere had additional gems like “First Wave Intact” and “Nowhere Again.” Ten Silver Drops arrived in 2006 with stellar songs like “Alone, Jealous, And Stoned” and “Lightning Blue Eyes,” and this Saturday, we can surely expect to hear material off their upcoming third full-length.

Follow the jump for a chance to win a pair of tickets to this show!
