Dell Facing Class Action Lawsuit

A class action lawsuit has been filed against Round Rock-based Dell alleging that the company failed to pay appropriate overtime wages to their customer service employees. The lawsuit - originally filed in 2007 by two employees from Dell’s Roseburg, Oregon call center - states that the company failed to keep accurate overtime records which resulted in inaccurate overtime pay.

As many as 80 people have already joined the lawsuit. It is estimated that up to 5,000 current and former employees in Oregon, Texas, Idaho, Tennessee and Oklahoma are eligible to join suit. A similar suit was filed April 1st in a U.S. District Court here in Texas on behalf of corporate customer service representatives. Both lawsuits are requesting repayment of lost wages, along with interest and attorney fees.
