Local renaissance man Owen Egerton (How Best to Avoid Dying, the Sinus Show) loves him some Matthew Stuart, a talented young artist and writer from California—so much so that he's opening up his home to host a special show of Stuart's new artwork.
Stuart was recently nominated for this year's storySouth Million Writers Award for Fiction for his online short story, '"A Baby Is A Baby Is A Baby," which you can read here. He's also been commissioned in the past to create paintings and illustrations for such literary cool kids as Mary Karr (The Liar's Club) and Salvador Plascencia (The People of Paper).

Tomorrow evening's show will feature about a dozen new pieces featuring, says Stuart, "never-before-seen linocuts ... scrapping Baldwins, lovesick Napoleons, and much more." As an added bonus to this classy affair, Egerton himself has promised to serve up some delicious martinis—"and maybe even cookies!"
All work, shown below, by Matthew Stuart.

Children's Museum? on Bouldin? Never seen it on my bike rides....
whoops, sloppy copy and pasting!!
Yawn. Morton's salt? A black eyed Napoleon holding a fucking popsicle? This has got to be a joke. No way that anyone would waste their time and money on blatant copies of images we've seen a thousand times before?
Or is this guy trying to say that there's meaning behind the Morton's salt girl that I just can't get because I'm too stupid to understand his bullshit reason for coming up with nothing original.
