Be sure to stop by the Kids Zone, where the little ones can binge on Amy’s Ice Cream, make their own “weird” costumes and jump themselves silly on the moonwalk. Kids 12 and under get in to the festival for free ($10 if Junior wants to participate in the 5k.)
Not up for a run? No sweat. You can still participate in the festival by purchasing tickets online or at any RunTex location. Proceeds go to the RunTex-Carozza Foundation whose mission is to improve the health of the community through running events, support and training programs.
Schedule after the jump.

This is a really cool festival and for a good cause. Too bad Austin quit being "weird" about 10 years ago.

"Keep Austin Weird" isn't about being odd or different, its about shopping local business and making sure that local businesses that are part of the fabric of Austin remain in business.

Hog wash. It was about being odd and different and unlike any other Texas city until local businesses were threatened by the influx of people from out of state and the national chains and commercial developers that followed them. Then it became about all that junk. Now it's just a hollow slogan. Kinda like Live Music Capital of the World. Nevermind the noise ordinances and steadily declining live music venues in town.

What's so weird about this festival? A 5K run, a costume contest, balloon animals, not allowing coolers, charging too much for crappy food and beer -- these are not weird. Keep Austin Delusional.

local businesses like at&t and 24 hour fitness?

Yeah, a real native Texan has never ever shopped at Walmart or Bestbuy or anywhere else. Those stores only came to Austin because of people from California!
We need a "Keep Ducknutz Bitter" festival.

Screw the naysayers, ducknutz. As my girls say, "The haters are just jealous of your fabulousness".
