Don't Mess With Dusty

Corsha Beasley might want to look into signing up for some anger management courses real soon. And maybe visit a local Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.

On Monday, a drunken Corsha thought it was a good idea to start throwing ‘bows with two of Austin’s finest – a nightly occurrence on 6th Street, right? In this case, Ms. Beasley chose to take out her drunken aggression on a four-legged officer of the law – stoic yet graceful Dusty the Police Horse.

During a response to a stabbing call on East 6th, mounted police were called in as backup to disperse the large crowd gathering in the street. When 21-year-old Corsha’s anger got the best of her, she began pushing the horse, eventually “violently striking” Dusty with her shoe near his left eye. Dusty’s partner then tried to restrain Beasley only to be smacked in the face with the same shoe. Fortunately, neither the human or equine sustained serious injury.

Beasley is being held in lieu of the $30,000 bail and faces felony charges for interference with a police service animal and assault on a peace officer. If convicted, Beasley could face six months to two years in the big house and a $10,000 fine.

I promise that I have no relation to this woman or any other Beasley that would assault a horse. How dare she tarnish my family name with her equine beatings!
