Thievery Corporation Official Afterparty @ Mohawk Tonight

We don’t really need Rob Garza and Eric Hilton to bring us any heat – but we doubt they can help it. The duo that is Thievery Corporation makes music so sensual that the audience (the very lucky audience – it’s a sold-out show) at Stubb’s on Tuesday will just have to get a little extra sweaty.

Thievery Corporation’s Austin gig is part of the OuternationalMusic Tour. They’ll be joined at Stubb’s by Ocote Soul Sounds, a project of Martín Perna (friend of TV on the Radio) and Adrian Quesada of Grupo Fantasma.The band began their 8-day tour June 20 in San Francisco. Supported by SeuJorge, Bebel Gilberto, Federico Aubele and more, they’re going coast to coast, and stopping in what can only be referred to as some of the best party cities in the country (L.A., Vegas, N.Y.C. and Austin, of course). The tour ends on the 28th in the band’s hometown of Washington, DC.

Stubb’s doors will open at 6 p.m. If you didn’t get a chance to snag tickets, there’s an official after-party at Mohawk. Ocote Soul Sounds and DJ BigFace will take the torch and keep things hot inside the club. P.S.: Good luck winning the ACL taping tickets today! -Karie Meltzer
