United Way Capital Area announced yesterday the launch of a new initiative designed to invite Central Texans to "Live United" and work together to advance the common good. A "Live United" kick-off event will take place this weekend to help promote the message of the campaign: Give. Advocate. Volunteer. Live United.

In addition, United Way has launched a new website to engage the community through simple activities that create an enormous impact.

Focusing on the building blocks of a good life—education, financial stability and health, United Way Capital Area's goal is to create positive lasting change by addressing the underlying causes of these problems. According to David Balch, President and CEO of United Way Capital Area:

Live United is about everyone making a decision to get involved in our community. It's a personal ethic, and when embraced by the community, it becomes a powerful tool.

Stop by Jo's Coffee on Congress this Saturday to learn more about the campaign, community issues, and how you can get your "give, advocate, and volunteer" on!
