House Show Alert: Dinosaur BBQ, Jacob Borshard at the Natrix Natrix domicile
Wednesday, June 18
Natrix Natrix (3222 John Campbell’s Trail)
9pm

They might not go down quite like this, but the Natrix Natrix house parties have been pretty righteous shindigs. In its brief existence, it has been host to shows by both local acts (Moth!Fight!) and visitors from beyond Austin (Friendship Hurricane, The Shivers).
Tonight marks the return of Alex Bleeker, a.k.a. Dinosaur BBQ from New Jersey, who visited the Natrix house on his last stop into Austin and led the crowd in sing-alongs and a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "I'm on Fire." Also performing is wunderkind Jacob Borshard, who pens funny, ukulele-based accompaniments about spaceships, dinosaurs, and heartbreak. Ambitiously, Borshard also just released a mini-single combining the entirety of the Cocktail soundtrack into two tracks.
And while the lo-fi rockers of Bear Claw had to cancel, David Israel is sure not to disappoint, and is promising a full-length LP to follow up his enjoyable last EP, These are the Clothes We'll Wear When We're Old.
The show begins at 9 pm, but for those interested, a veggie potluck will start at 8 pm. While there's no charge to get in, donations for touring bands are always appreciated and encouraged.
