Texas Guard Abrams To Withdraw From NBA Draft

Shooting guard AJ Abrams will withdraw from this year's NBA Draft and will return to the University of Texas for his senior season, according to the Austin American-Statesman.

As Texas' career leading three-point shooter, Abrams declared for the draft in late April along with point guard DJ Augustin, but maintained his NCAA eligibility by not hiring an agent. Augustin is widely projected as a mid to late lottery pick.

The move doesn't come as much of a surprise, as several experts have recently projected that Abrams would go undrafted after rumored workouts with the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors. Additionally, Abrams did not make the list of 64 players invited to the NBA's Pre-Draft camp in Orlando earlier this month.

The Longhorns now appear to be returning four starters, with junior Justin Mason the leading candidate to replace the departing Augustin in the starting lineup.
