Usually when someone invites packs of strangers to wander around their house for a small admission charge, it’s to show off overdone Christmas trees or elaborate crown moulding on some kind of “Tour Of (Our Bizarrely Perfect Suburban) Homes” ordeal. And people inside behave as if their lives were from a play, and everything’s supremely creepy. So why not just do an actual play in the house and skip the crown moulding altogether? Amen! That’s the idea behind Muses II: Memories of a House.

Produced by the Vestige Group, Muses II is a compilation of scenes set in different rooms in the home of noted Austin sculptor and artist Bobby Pearl, right in South Austin’s very own Travis Heights. So the only bizarre perfection you’re likely to see is in the excellent acting—the first Muses got rave reviews all around, so why should this be any different? Just don’t go through the medicine cabinet.
