Hungry for a little optical stimuli? Stereopticon, with its futuristic 3D stereograms, kinetic art and optical sounds, promises to weave together sound and light in ways that will fascinate (and possibly trigger a seizure or two).

Local visual whizzes Erich Ragsdale and Eric Archer put their heads and talents together for this show, which opens today at The Opera House and continues through June 29.

Blending art and technology, Stereopticon features 3D displays that range from the abstract to local landmarks. The exhibit also includes demos of vintage media devices and homemade technology like sound cameras, circular sequencers and prismatic projectors.

The opening reception tonight from 7-10 p.m. will feature a performance by the analog electronic group, Operation Playmate.
