<description>&lt;p&gt;I would say the one thing (and it isn&apos;t a small thing) that would put Houston above Austin on a list like this is the abundance of jobs/opportunities.  I get tired of these lists that point to Austin&apos;s booming job market, while not clarifying who it is booming for (typically MBA&apos;s and those with 10, 15+ years of work experience).  Houston offers more opportunities for &quot;average&quot; people.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
