I think its just a blatant attempt for SM to salvage his own self so he will have a possibility of doing something after Bush.

I like that Scott had the nerve to do describe the workings behind the veil of secrecy knowing that he would be vilified by his tribe. On the other hand, it seems a strange for Scott to condemn the press for believing the propaganda that he himself helped to disseminate.
