Austin Police Need Help in Solving Eighth Murder of 2008

A woman was found dead in a parked car in North Austin this morning, and Austin police aren't sure what happened.

27-year-old Deysi Gonzalez Hernandez was discovered in the driver's seat at 2:45 a.m. with "obvious signs of trauma."

Authorities, who consider this a homicide case, are trying to gather as much information from the nearby community, but fear that many will be reluctant to talk to them.

"Any information that people can provide would be appreciated," said Detective Douglas Rice to News8Austin. "We're not worried about immigration status or anything like that, we feel that some people may be reluctant to come forward. That is not our concern."

Anyone with helpful information is asked to call Austin Homicide Detectives at (512) 477-3588, or dial 911.
