In less than a week, the patron saint of Outlaw Country - Mr. Willie Nelson himself – turns seventy-five years old. And to celebrate the man and his career, the Texas Music Matters show on local NPR affiliate KUT has produced an hour-long documentary about the redheaded stranger entitled “Amazing Grace: The Story of Willie Nelson.”

David Brown, the producer of Texas Music Matters, assembled this documentary to include not just Nelson’s career, but also his upbringing and slow rise to iconic status. “Amazing Grace” will debut on KUT, 90.5 FM this Sunday at 11:00 a.m., and on Willie’s birthday, the 29th, it will air again at 2:00 p.m. The show will also be available for download here starting the 29th.
