Writers in the Round: Discussion with Local Talent

Writers in the Round
April 10, 5:30pm
Salvage Vanguard Theater (2803 Manor Rd)
Free!
Tomorrow night at Salvage Vanguard Theater, UT's Libraries and the Fine Arts Library are hosting a panel discussion with quite an impressive panel of local playwrights. None other than George Brant, Sherry Kramer, Kirk Lynn, and Steve Moore "will address their position as straddlers—young, critically acclaimed playwrights whose early successes in the 20th century influenced the theater’s trajectory into the 21st."

Acclaimed indeed! Brant's Elephant’s Graveyard was produced last year at UT and enjoyed favorable attention of critics. Kramer has won a boatload of awards and is currently in residence at the Michener Center. Lynn is a founder of the amazing and wonderful Rude Mechanicals, who have yet another smash hit by Lynn, The Method Gun, closing this weekend at the Long Center. Moore is a founder of Physical Plant Theatre, author of local blockbusters Not Clown and Nightswim, and has had his hands into all sorts of Austin's funkier theatre productions.

In short, these folks really know their business. Here's your chance to pick their brains. Emcee extraordinaire—Austin's most knowlegable and charming theatre guru Robert Faires—will moderate. And all this amazing brainpower is yours for free. Tomorrow night, SVT, 5:30pm.
