As a special teaser, the festival has offered a mashup curated by Austin's own Car Stereo (Wars), the musical moniker for local filmmaker Chris Rose. Rose's keen ability to layer pop culture onto itself has earned him praise from many, including Gorilla vs. Bear, URB Magazine, the Austin Chronicle and yours truly. His talents are highlighted in the mix for ACL, as he weaves 30 of the festival's performers together in one mega-mix.
Grab the mashup and listen to get a quick glimpse into what we can expect from this year's festival, days ahead of the official lineup release. If that's enough to hook you, buy your tickets now: three day passes are on sale for $170.

So who'd you hear?
I'll take care of the obvious ones:
Okkervil River
Neko Case
Del
The White Stripes
Didn't hear Radiohead. I guess they'll be busy in CA that weekend.
Also in the mix: Silversun Pickups
The Raconteurs
And that's my limited insight. More thoughts on the artists here.
I may have heard the clapping on 15 Steps in there but that could be some other 15 Stepish clapping. That mashup was annoying. It's like listening to a medley which is so cheesy it gives me residual cheese just saying "medley".
Right. Raconteurs, not Stripes. Duh.
Heartless Bastards starting at 2:57. Think this would be their 3rd ACL fest appearance...
Spoon is in there with that one song.
Correction - 2nd festival appearance, as per wikipedia...
"Didn't hear Radiohead. I guess they'll be busy in CA that weekend."
I think the ACL dates are still open on Radiohead's tour schedule. Keep hope alive!
you can add hot chip, jamie lidell, MGMT, del the funkee homosapein and CSS to the list.
hot chip and octopus project
can we assume car stereo (wars) is in as well?
Add Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Tegan and Sara, maybe Camille.
Tegan and Sara sound just like Le Tigre. Just not as good.
Not Le Tigre, L'Trimm.
Stupid youtube kids and their mislabeling of videos.
Maybe that was another band. Alls I know is that the Alala Alala song sounds like the bastard child of Book of Love and L'Trimm. If that's not Tegan and Sara then sorry to them. I didn't hear that song on their myspace page and all their youtube videos are them talking for 5 minutes.
The Alala Alala song is by CSS
Is that Junior Brown at the end?
Gnarls Barkley is in there
so is N.E.R.D
and that is def not the clapping from 15step
Any chance there's some Manu Chao in there?
You're right. I really hate N.E.R.D. and I'm sure Pharrell cares, but that shit is pussy techno dance crap.
